Ann Vander Stoep, Ph.D., is a child psychiatric epidemiologist who has a joint appointment in the UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Epidemiology. She studies the etiology of child and adolescent mental health problems and the effectiveness of mental health interventions and services. Dr. Vander Stoep teaches quantitative research methods and psychiatric epidemiology and mentors graduate students in the UW School of Public Health. She has been an active teacher and mentor at the University of Nairobi in Kenya and program developer and evaluator in Malawi.
